This week has been pretty busy when it comes to EP releases and, while the 'big names' delivered on their Facebook promises of epicness, I want to highlight some artists that you better watch out for in the coming months.
To start off this special two-post Friday, I'd like to introduce you to Venom. You may recognize this trio from FMM a few weeks ago, but if not then get ready for a lesson. Coming to you straight from Italy, Venom's tracks feature an electro-house fusion they refer to as "complextro". Call it what you want, all I know is that their 3 song EP, titled 'Cold Days', got me jumping around more than a 6-year-old with a Slurpee. On top of that, Venom is giving away all of these awesome tracks (and two more of my favorites) for FREE! Enjoy!
Unless you're new around here, you've probably noticed that the EDM scene on the central coast is growing faster than a wildfire and it doesn't appear to be slowing down. Well consider this my fuel for the flames: a showcase of the local talent and their contribution to this crazy world we live in.
First off we have a track that sheds light on why Audiobit has gained such a strong following around here. Opening with smooth vocals and an upbeat tempo, What I Want is one song that makes you need some filthy bass. Lucky for us, it delivers.

If you haven't heard of Fatty Knuckles then let this be a formal introduction. Inscribe is a little dose of old school drum and bass, Santa Maria style. If you've only recently jumped on the dubstep bandwagon, you may not realize that music like this is what got things started.

To step up the beat a little, here's DevRun's remix of The Challenger. It's basically an 'in-your-face' electro-house rant that is guaranteed to induce shuffling and the occaisional all night party. Keeping the house train bumping, here's a track from Groovemunk that showcases his ability to "bring a party home", (in case you missed him opening for Crizzly the other night). This remix is also entered in a contest to head on over to Groovemunk's Facebook page if you like to party!

To wrap things up we have an original mix from LackLustre, an electro-house duo with origins in the central coast. Drop it like Lustre gets things started with a 'driving montage-esque' melody only to kick your eardrums in the pants with a fist-pumping bass drop!
