It's the beginning of the most poultry filled week of the year and what has to be one of my new favorite holidays (college makes you appreciate food the same way Charlie Brown specials make you appreciate Christmas). So now it's time for me to get your week off to a wobbly start with FREE TUNES!
This week I'm featuring songs from some of our local DJ/producers. To begin alphabetically (as Sesame Street insists) we have Audiobit's new track "Superstar", a chill dubstep track with gritty basslines and rasta vocals. Next up is DevRun's "Funstep Edit" of Zedd's title track from his recent album "Shave it". And last but not least is a track by SLO local Nathaniel Rodriguez, titled "Dream". All three tracks are FREE and well worth the listen, so check them out, add them to your library and support the local scene!
Now this wouldn't be FREE MUSIC MONDAY without the normal assortment of bangers, moomba, electro, etc, so don't think I'm stopping now! There's been a ton of great free releases over the past week including a massive collaboration from Helicopter Showdown and Calvertron, aptly named "Drop It Again". The Killabits also felt like pleasing our ears and released a FREE track for reaching 10,000 fans on Facebook. Specimen A is back this week, not with a new track but one of their oldies that I'm obsessed with due to it's 'wompy' bass that reminds me of the tracks that first got me hooked on dubstep. Wrapping it up for 'the dubstep' (as my dad likes to call it), Virtual Riot is making a SLO BASS debut with their space-grime track, "Aliens".
From there things pick up a bit with Paper Diamond's electro thrasher "Can We Go Up" and Will Bailey's joint moomba remix of "Swagga" with Incahoots. And since it's always best to finish with a bang, Onnex and Blende finish up the post with amazing remixes of Porter Robinson & Lazy Rich and Skrillex. Enjoy!

UPDATE: Apparently there are several DJ/producers in the area going by the name 'Nasty Nate'. When first posting this I got the two of them mixed up. The above track is still a great track but you should also check out the other Nasty Nate's soundcloud page for some sick mixes! Word is he's going to be releasing some new tracks soon!
