PULSE! @ MO/TAV - Review

Last Tuesday night brought with it an excellent example of the talent that SLO Dj's have to offer. Local DJ John Smith got the night off to a great start, pumping the dance floor with some moombahton to get people grooving. Next up was another local favorite, DevRun. With the crowd growing and the bass thumping, DevRun transitioned into some progressive electro house. This really got things moving, along with the promise of free Tiësto tickets to the two best dancers of the night. At this point of the night things were getting intense. Girls were freaking, dancers were sweating, and the crowd continued to grow. The third DJ for the evening, Freq Status, coming all the way from Hollywood for this event, kept the progressive mixes coming before dropping the first dubstep track of the night. If you've been to an electro show before then you know what this is like; the crowd had been upbeat all night, moving to the electro beats, when all of a sudden a half-time drop shatters the pace and makes things get freaky. By this point the mood was prime for local favorite, Audiobit, to take the stage. Having recently won the Continuum DJ contest, Audiobit has developed a following in the area and the crowd was ready for his unique blend of classic favorites and brand new bangers. Even on this Tuesday night the die hard fans stuck it out until last call, headbanging and shuffling well after the lights went up.

This was a promising taste of what's to come in future PULSE! shows. I'm excited to see that SLO's scene has a core group of fans devoted to making a night like this possible. Check back the first Tuesday of November for the next PULSE!
