Good morning SLO BASS readers! It's been a whole weeks since the last post so I thought I'd give you a little present. This week you get a special 'morning edition' of FREE MUSIC MONDAY to go with your coffee. I've got another handful of tracks to start off your week with a WOMP so crank up your speakers and wake up everyone in a two block radius! Enjoy!
*Steve Aoki ft. Wynter Gordon- Ladi Dadi (Restless remix)*
It's been two whole weeks since the last edition of FREE MUSIC MONDAYS and I think it's about time I give you another dose of hard hitting music to get you heart pumping after a long day at work/school/whatever. Today I have a handful of tracks featuring vocal remixes, filthy basslines, upbeat electro, two artists with names referencing Back To The Future, and even a Sesame Street sample! So kick back, relax and turn up those speakers! The first person to make a senior citizen think aliens are invading wins!
Thanks for reading and supporting the blog. FREE MUSIC MONDAYS are going to be a biweekly post going into the spring so check back every other week for more free music! Don't forget to tell your friends about SLO BASS and "Like" us on Facebook to stay updated!
I would have enjoyed Play-Doh a lot more if it did stuff like this when I was a kid.
Welcome to another edition of FREE MUSIC MONDAY! Your one-stop-shop for free EDM music to get your week started! Normally this is the part where I mention a song or two and elaborate on the positive aspects of their composition and quality... but not this week! This week I'm keeping things short because a gumbo of awesome EDM tracks await you (figuratively of course, don't try to eat your speakers). There's bangers, wobble, pops, growls, grinds everything else that you could hope for! As always these tracks are all FREE! Consider them my gift to your for making it through another Monday. Now scroll down, and remember, it isn't loud enough until you can feel it!
Happy New Year everyone! What a better way to start off 2012 than with FREE MUSIC MONDAY #12!! I've been taking some time off and during that time things have been blowing up in the EDM world! Skrillex released his much anticipated Bangarag EP. Sluggo and Helicopter Showdown teamed up to release a joint EP titled We Want It All. And.. AND Zeds Dead released their new Adrenaline EP (I'll try to have links for all three up soon). Meanwhile the rest of us have been gearing up for what could be the year that EDM goes mainstream. Who knows what that means, all I know is it will be one hell of a ride! But enough talk, here's the new Figure track that gets this year's first FMM started with a bang! Crank up the volume and enjoy!!
Don't forget to 'Like' SLO BASS on Facebook to show your support and stay updated on everything BASS related on the central coast! Except for fish... I don't talk about fish.
Happy Holiday Explosions Everyone! FREE MUSIC MONDAY is back and what better way to celebrate than with a collection of bangers to get your week started! This week marks the official release of Knife Party's much anticipated "100% No Modern Talking" EP. This London duo initially gained electro/rock-stardom as members of Pendulum, but they've blown up in the world of EDM for consistently delivering massive dubstep, electro and moombahton tracks. You may think you've already heard these songs, but trust me, the ripped copies you've been bumping for the past few months have received a nice twist for their official release!
The free music doesn't stop there! After the jump there's some new tracks from the likes of Skrillex, Figure, Flux Pavilion, Doctor P, Alvin Risk and more! Crank up that volume knob and enjoy!
Tis the season to go golfing with ornaments and bullets! This could catch on...
It's time for another (albeit delayed) edition of FREE MUSIC MONDAY!... on Tuesday. Since this is the tenth installment of FMM I'm filling it with eight NINE (yeah that's right) BASS-filled tracks to get your winter started properly. "How can EDM be proper and winter oriented?" It's actually quite simple as long as you stick to the following 10 steps.
1. Plug your computer/phone/MP3whatever into the largest speakers you own.
2. Turn up the volume
3. Make a cup of hot chocolate (add marshmallows as desired)
4. Curl up with the hot chocolate in the most comfortable chair you own
5. Cover yourself in a soft blanket (maximum comfort is your goal)
6. Press PLAY
7. Throw the hot chocolate and blanket into the air
8. Shuffle/jump around/wreak havoc (depending on the song)
9. Repeat with every new song
10. Make up a story to tell your roommates why there's hot chocolate on the ceiling
Here's my 34 favorite tracks for today followed by the other 5 after the jump. Enjoy!
Hey everyone! It's time for another edition of FREE MUSIC MONDAY! This week's tracks are so hot I'm currently registering 102°! Well, maybe the tracks didn't actually give me a fever, but that doesn't mean they aren't the cure! In any case, I'm keeping this short because my meds are starting to kick in and my ability to type coherently is rapidly fading. Crank up the bass and enjoy!!
I would be angry too if I opened a beer and there was water inside.
It's the beginning of the most poultry filled week of the year and what has to be one of my new favorite holidays (college makes you appreciate food the same way Charlie Brown specials make you appreciate Christmas). So now it's time for me to get your week off to a wobbly start with FREE TUNES!
This week I'm featuring songs from some of our local DJ/producers. To begin alphabetically (as Sesame Street insists) we have Audiobit's new track "Superstar", a chill dubstep track with gritty basslines and rasta vocals. Next up is DevRun's "Funstep Edit" of Zedd's title track from his recent album "Shave it". And last but not least is a track by SLO local Nathaniel Rodriguez, titled "Dream". All three tracks are FREE and well worth the listen, so check them out, add them to your library and support the local scene!
Now this wouldn't be FREE MUSIC MONDAY without the normal assortment of bangers, moomba, electro, etc, so don't think I'm stopping now! There's been a ton of great free releases over the past week including a massive collaboration from Helicopter Showdown and Calvertron, aptly named "Drop It Again". The Killabits also felt like pleasing our ears and released a FREE track for reaching 10,000 fans on Facebook. Specimen A is back this week, not with a new track but one of their oldies that I'm obsessed with due to it's 'wompy' bass that reminds me of the tracks that first got me hooked on dubstep. Wrapping it up for 'the dubstep' (as my dad likes to call it), Virtual Riot is making a SLO BASS debut with their space-grime track, "Aliens".
From there things pick up a bit with Paper Diamond's electro thrasher "Can We Go Up" and Will Bailey's joint moomba remix of "Swagga" with Incahoots. And since it's always best to finish with a bang, Onnex and Blende finish up the post with amazing remixes of Porter Robinson & Lazy Rich and Skrillex. Enjoy!
LOCALS
*Audiobit -Superstar*
*Zedd - Shave It (DevRun FunStep Edit)*
*Nasty Nate - Dream*
UPDATE: Apparently there are several DJ/producers in the area going by the name 'Nasty Nate'. When first posting this I got the two of them mixed up. The above track is still a great track but you should also check out the other Nasty Nate's soundcloud page for some sick mixes! Word is he's going to be releasing some new tracks soon!
Note: I'm doing things a little differently this week. In order help the home page load quickly I've moved most of the songs past the "Read More" link. All of your FREE songs are waiting on the other side so click below and get your BASS on!... Okay, I'll admit that sounds a little dirty, but you know what I mean.
It's that time again! Time to shake off that "I feel hungover but I didn't drink last night... (okay, maybe I had a few drinks)" feeling that seems to creep up every Monday. In case you're new around here, this is the day that I post a bunch of FREE songs for your listening pleasure (and your neighbor's displeasure). I feel like I've been neglecting some of the sub-genres in the EDM scene, so today I'm mixing it up! If you're a fan of some funky beats, old-school dubstep wobble, gritty moombahton, chillstep, hardcore electro, glitchy remixes, trance-y club, OR massive drops then I have something for you!! Turn up your speakers and ignore your roommate's complaints. If the walls aren't shaking then the volume isn't high enough!
Smashed bullets look like tiny top hats... Monopoly anyone?
I'm back and ready to bring you another edition of FMM!! This week I have a massive collection of bass-boomin' tracks that you can take to the bank!.. that is, if you take your iPod to the bank.
I feel like I've been neglecting you guys so this week I'm bringing a handful of posts to keep you satisfied! The whole ordeal is starting right here with an assortment of movie inspired bangers, moombahcore and some random tracks I just couldn't pass up! So turn up your speakers and get ready to shower, these tracks are straight up dirty!
If you recognized all of the movie clips, congratulations! You have my permission to stop whatever it is that you're supposed to be doing, grab a beer and play video games. Forget work, I just gave you a golden ticket to a trouble free Monday afternoon!
Happy Halloween my fellow bass fiends! This is 5th installment of FMM and it is definitely the spookiest! I'm keeping things short and simple this week so you can have more music for tonight's endeavors (read: party until you puke like a jack-o-lantern). There's some bangers, hardcore electro and some moomba to keep you on a bass high all night!
Thanks for reading! Be sure to 'Like' SLO BASS to show your support and to stay updated with more Free Music and concert listings! I have some exciting posts coming up so you don't want to miss out!
Like vegetables, ample amounts of bass are necessary to maintain a balanced diet. Keeping that in mind, it's time for your weekly serving of free music! This week I'm dishing up some hearty portions so grab the biggest spoon you can find and chow down!
These first two bangers come from DJ/producer Jomekka. He's a new face for the dubstep scene but his hip-hop beats and massive drops make him one to watch for. His album 'Dinosaurs Love 808s' was released back in July and a bunch of his tunes are free to download on his Soundcloud page so be sure to check that out if you like what you hear!
*Jomekka - Corbin James Feland Bass*
Here's a new collaboration between Datsik and Bassnectar that takes me back to when I first started getting into Dubstep. The reggae vocals and theme bring back visions of smoke plumes rising casually out of concert crowds. If you've partaken in the "secret" hit-n-pass at a recent show and didn't get caught, pat yourself on the back and light up. This one's for you!
*Datsik & Bassnectar - Elevate*
Skrillex and Kaskade have also been working together recently and this electro house mix is the result. I heard it isn't being released until tomorrow, but golly gosh darn it you guys are so swell I figured I'd give it to you today. Enjoy!
*Kaskade & Skrillex - Lick It (Original Mix)*

I'm still warming up to the moombahton genre but this track is definitely a keeper. Wick-it the Instigator is a Tennessee DJ/producer with tracks spanning across multiple genres and styles. Be it moomba, dubstep, drumstep or a mashup, Wick-it does it all with a little dose of humor thrown into the mix. Be sure to check out his page to see (ie hear) what I mean!
*The Heavy - How You Like Me Now (Wick-it Moombahton Remix)*
Finally, here's an upbeat tune Dillon Francis released that definitely brightened up my Monday. While listening to it my face couldn't decide between smiling and making the thizz face so I ended up looking like I had smelled something horrible. Stand in front of a mirror while this is playing and you'll see what I mean.
*Dillon Francis - I.D.G.A.F.O.S.*
It's that time again! If you're new to the site, this is where I post free music downloads to get your week started off right. Today I have a blend of dubstep, electro, disco, house and a little bit in between. Open your ears and turn up your stereo, first person to break a noise ordinance wins!!
The first track today is the brand new from dubstep sensation Zomboy. This UK DJ/producer was basically unheard of but with the explosive popularity of his Bass Cannon Remix and the recent release of his Game Time EP, Zomboy has developed a massive following and is a major player in the EDM scene.
*Nadia Ali, Starkillers & Alex Kenji - Pressure (Zomboy Remix)*
Next up is Flux Pavilion's remix of Example's Midnight Run. Now that Bass Cannon is settling into the rubble it created when first released, it's nice to hear FP going back to his roots in this grooving dubstep track.
*Example - Midnight Run (Flux Pavilion Remix)*
Have you ever heard of Congorock? If you answered yes then skip to the song and grab a beer, you've earned it! If you answered no then you might want to pay more attention to this Los Angeles club killer. His gritty progressive house beats are addictive and I've personally seen him make crowds go insane, (institutionalized insane, not old person insane).
*CONGOROCK - Sirius (Original Mix)*
This next song comes all the way from Deep Filth in Cape Town, South Africa. Since South Africa is like Australia and everything is upside down, this track is best enjoyed while standing on your head.
*The Destroy Squad - Brainwashing(Deep Filth Remix)*
Here are two songs I've been over playing the past few days. The first is the original mix 'Lifetime' by Andy's iLL and the second is the Drivepilot remix. The original is dark dubstep while the remix is in-yo-face electro trash. A nice yin and yang for your Monday afternoon.
*Andy's iLL - Lifetime*
Now for that disco I promised you, here's Hirshee. Like with the chocolates, I occasionally have cravings for Hirshee's unique bass lines and mixes of disco, electro and dubstep,(luckily I can take in massive amounts of Hirshee's music without getting sick and puking into the bag holding the rest of my candy). This is probably the least dubstep-y of his tracks so if you really want more womp womp today I suggest you check out his Facebook page.
*Hirshee - Smash The Disco*
Finally today I'm going to leave you with something a little more chill. Coming from the Helsinki (that's in Finland) dubstep DJ/producer 501, 'Escaping Monday' is not only a lighter side of dubstep, it's also what you do every week when Tuesday rolls around. So when you wake up tomorrow, instead of gloomily facing another work day, celebrate a successful escape!
*501 - Escaping Monday*
That's it for today! Be sure to check back throughout the week for more free music and 'Like' SLO BASS to stay updated with new posts, free music and concert listings!
That's right! It's time for another Free Music Monday, and this time I'm getting right to the good stuff. Turn up your speakers, open your windows, and start annoying your neighbors!
Right off the bat I want to hit you with something hard, and Tremourz has made a name for himself doing just that. J. Rabbit became a household name in the dubstep scene with the release of Sexy Party, but Tremourz remains the unsung hero in that collaboration. Here's his remix of Bassex's 'Sex Drive'. If you aren't a fan of getting filthy, then you might want to listen to this one in the shower.
Bassex is a pretty filthy beast himself, so here's one of his original mixes for your collection.
*Adele - Someone You Like (Bassex Bootleg)*
Like Bassex on Facebook
For the last banger today, I give you Diesel. His drumstep mixes always have a surprise in store and this is definitely no exception. Don't let the jazz piano intro fool you for even a second.
Coming at you from the UK, Far Too Loud brings you fast-paced, hard hitting electro. He has a big following in the UK so it could only be a matter of time before he starts melting faces in the US.
If you didn't check out Restless last week then here's another chance to check out one of my favorite new electro producers. This is his new remix of Kastle's 'I Know'. Be sure to check out his Soundcloud for more awesome tracks and tons of free downloads!

Finally, here's a track I'd love to hear get some play time in the local clubs. The S is an Italian electro duo hellbent on dropping hard tracks. Their new EP 'Death and Rainbows' came out in July and climbed to #3 on the Electro House Beatport charts. It's definitely worth checking out.
